Katharina Grosse at MASS MOCA
July 14, 2011This phenomenal installation by Katharina Grosse brings to mind the work of sculpture and jewelry maker Bjorn Weckstorm. While working in different media and on very different scales, both give the feel of an epic geological landscape that's expertly edited and cropped down into a distilled concept. Beyond the edges of Weckstrom's work is an icy nordic landscape, and Grosse's installations are easily imagined as part of an alien planet whole.
